Get inspired!  Slip stitch patterns look more complicated than they are. Amaze yourself and your friends with this easy and fun knitting technique.
What is a Mosaic Slip Stitch?

Do you love the look of color knitting (using 2 or more colors in a pattern), but don't think you would like stranding two yarns across each row? Do you shy away from Fair Isle patterns because they seem too complicated?  Then Mosaic patterns are for you!  In Mosaic Knitting you never handle more than one strand at a time!

But wait...how experienced of a knitter are you?  Do you know how to knit a stitch?  Can you slip a stitch?
If the answer is yes - you are ready to try Mosaic Knitting!  Purling is optional.

You can learn the basics of reading a mosaic slip stitch chart  by making this quick coffee cozy.  To get started you will need about 8 yards each of a light color and a dark color.  Free Pattern

Slip Stitch Patterns or Mosaic Patterns-What's the Difference?

Slip stitch patterns don't follow the same rules as Mosaic patterns.  Sometimes the slip stitch float is on the "public" side for texture. A slip stitch pattern can be done all in one color with texture alone being the interest.

Fun & Easy Slip Stitch Sampler Scarf from Lynn Wilson Designs is designed to introduce you to the "magic" of slip-stitch textures and colorwork
